Three teachers on AAP’s second list

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today announced its second list of candidates. Its women cell convener Baljinder Kaur is among those selected for 13 Assembly seats. Punjab goes to the polls early next year. The party’s first list comprised candidates for 19 constituencies.
Baljinder Kaur has been allotted the Talwandi Sabo seat, party’s trade wing in-charge Aman Arora Sunam, farmers’ cell vice-president Karanvir Singh Tiwana Patiala (Rural) and SC wing in-charge Dev Mann the Nabha seat. Aman Arora is son of former Congress minister Bhagwan Dass Arora.

There are three teachers on the list — Jaswinder Singh Jahangir from Attari, former principal Baldev Singh Azad from Malout and Baldev Singh from Jaito. Jahangir, vice-president of the Punjab Teachers’Union, has quit his job to contest the elections.
Sarbans Singh Manki, SGPC member who quit after the Behbal Kalan incident, will contest from Samrala, former PPP leader Gurpeet Singh Bhatti from Amloh and former Congress minister JS Randhawa’s daughter Anu from Ghanaur.
Cardiologist Dr Ravjot Singh will fight from Sham Chaurasi, former Sangrur Bar chief Harpal Singh Cheema from Dirba and Daljeet Singh Grewal from Ludhiana (East).
