THREE KILLED AS BUS TURNS TURTLE IN JAGRAON VILLAGE


Sohian July 2:
Three persons were killed and eight injured when a bus of a spinning mill, carrying about 31 staff members, turned turtle while negotiating a sharp curve here today morning. The injured were rushed to Jagraon Civil Hospital.
According to information, the staff bus of Rishabh Spinning Mill, situated in the nearby Jodha village, was passing through the village after picking up women workers from the adjoining villages. And the accident took place when it was approaching the Ferozepur road around 5:30 am. Ramandeep Kaur (24) and Pinki (20), both residents of Sidhwaan Khaas village, and Davinder Singh (40), a resident of the Ubbe village, died on the spot.
On receiving information about the mishap, a team of Ludhiana (Rural) police, including DSPs Bhupinder Singh and Satnam Singh, immediately reached the spot and began the rescue operation with the help of villagers.
The bodies were sent for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the driver of the bus, Avtar Singh, under sections 304(A), 279, 337 and 338 of the IPC. A police officer said deceased Davinder Singh was a relative of the bus driver.
