music , Anna Hazare's campaign
to push India Against
Corruption's draft of the Lokpal
through Parliament has led to
it's own brand of Lokpal themed

Mumbai rapper Krishna Kaul,
better known as Young
Prozpekt got fame and name on
the Indian rap circuit with his
response to AR Rahman's CWG
anthem with his own''Yeh Kaisa
Mera Desh', an anti-corruption
anthem.
Kaul's new track and video is
called The Lokpal Freestyle
"I rap about things that affect
me, everything from the CWG to
illiteracy and child labour to the
Lokpal bill", says Kaul.
"My generation has grown up
on a cocktail of languages.
English is almost as good as our
first language but there is still
an unbreakable connection to
Hindi for those who've grown
up in cities and towns" he adds.
"Plus, Hindi has mass appeal. It
doesn't restrict your audiences
to a specific language, like
English restricts it to an elite

Goonjega' is a message of
solidarity withAnna Hazare's
protest against corruption .

personally attended Mumbai
protests at Azad Maiden
everyday.
“ Kailash called me and asked
how he can get involved .
Overnight, he composed and
wrote the song which he
performed the next day at the
Azad Maidan celebration after
Anna broke his fast. The energy
was incredible and I knew we
had to get this song out there
not just in support of the cause
but also because it’s such a
beautiful song. India Against
Corruption provided us footage
from Azad Maidan and for the
other part of the video we
simply shot it in Kailash’s

With Anna hype reaching
Rajnikant like proportions , a
religious ode to Anna Hazare
was inevitable. Ghaziabad-based
21 year old Sankalp Srivastava,
event manager, bandleader and
budding music director wrote,
composed and sang a five
minute ‘Anna Chalisa’ in
Awadhi.Sankalp also distributed
free CD's of the song to support
India Against Corruption's
campaign.
"Annaji is fighting for all of us.
People from various walks of life
are supporting him. So, being a
musician, I thought of doing
something in favour of Annaji,"
Srivastava, who has composed
music for films and
advertisements, told the media.
