Terror nonstop: India scared

As India gets ready to celebrate its 60th Republic Day, CNN-IBN looks at some critical issues confronting the nation in the special State of the Nation series. The first installment is the CNN-IBN-Hindustan Times survey on terrorism and Pakistan.
It's been almost two months since the audacious terrorist attacks in Mumbai - attacks that shook the nation and led to huge public outrage against the system.
Two months on, what is the mood of the nation on the issue of terror? The survey conducted by the Centre for the Study of Developing Societies tried to gauge the popular mood to come up with some very interesting findings
Methodology
The survey was carried out at 882 locations among 14,786 respondent spread across 18 states of India. The questions related to terrorism were asked to 3056 respondents across all the locations.

The findings
26/11: Pak’s state-sponsored terror?
The question threw up interesting results. Thirty-three per cent of those polled believed the Mumbai terror attacks were planned by the Pakistani government. An equal share (33 pc) had no opinion and a similar percentage (34 pc) of those polled believed that Pakistani government was not involved.
How to deal with Pak?
On the question of how should India should deal with Pakistan, 24 per cent were in the favour of a military solution, 22 per cent preferred a dialogue and 23 per cent wanted India to put international pressure on that country.
Fight terror together?
About 42 per cent of the respondents opposed the idea of India and Pakistan fighting terror together, while 31 per cent had no opinion on the issue.
