Tendulkar targets home town ton in WC final

Sachin Tendulkar led the celebrations as India beat Pakistan by 29 runs in Mohali to claim a place in Saturday’s World Cup final.
Tendulkar, who was dropped four times during his top-scoring innings of 85, is hoping to hit his 100th international hundred in his home town of Mumbai against Sri Lanka. He said: `Going back to Mumbai for this event is a wonderful occasion. I just hope we can get the job done.`

Final straight: Tendulkar leads India`s celebrations after they reached the final.India, winners in 1983, chose to bat first, only to score what looked a below-par 260 for nine. But Pakistan were dismissed for 231, leaving Tendulkar with the prospect of facing world record wicket-taker Muttiah Muralitharan in Saturday’s showpiece. The Sri Lankan, who has a hamstring injury, will play his final game before retirement. (PTI)
