Hyderabad: Hyderabad police have further tightened the security after the bomb blast outside Delhi High Court with more police and security forces deployed in sensitive areas.

Police commissioner A.K. Khan said heightened security arrangements were being made for Sunday's Ganesh procession in Hyderabad. Security was also tightened outside the Andhra Pradesh High Court, where the National Security Guards were deployed.

Police were deployed near all the major Ganesh Pandals and the situation was being closely monitored by surveillance teams, the commissioner said. He asked for any suspicious behaviour to be reported immediately. The alert was already raised following the outbreak of communal riots in the Adoni town of the Kurnool district and a minor clash in Hyderabad on Tuesday night.

The communal violence which broke out during the Ganesh procession on Monday left at least 100 injured, four of them in police firing.

Trouble started when music was played outside Madina Masjid during prayers.

The violence spread to other areas. Mobs burned houses, shops and businesses. Ten trucks were also torched.

Despite police imposing curfew, trouble continued the next day and groups clashed leading to more injuries.
