Around 40 girls of a government school in central Delhi were admitted to hospital today after they consumed contaminated food served to them under mid-day meal scheme.
The incident was reported from Government Girls Higher Secondary School near Darya Ganj.
The students were taken to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital after they complained of vomiting sensation and showed symptoms of diarrhoea after having lunch, a senior police official said.
He said the condition of the girls was stable. A case will be registered and efforts are on to find out how the food was contaminated, the official said.
