Stranded Indian workers staged dharna at Indian embassy in Bahrain

Forty one stranded Indian workers of a construction company in Bahrain staged dharna in front of Indian Embassy demanding to send them back to India immediately.

M.Bheem Reddy,Vice President, Migrants Rights Council ( MRC ), India said in a press note emailed to yahind, that Abdul Naas Construction Company in Bahrain recruited about 2,000 workers from India between 2003 and 2006. But the Company was black listed by Government of India. However, the employer and Recruiting Agents managed Emigration authorities and arranged safe passage of the workers to Bahrain. The workers were not provided with proper food and accommodation. Even the salaries were also not paid to them as promised. 128 workers came out from the company. The Company filed a case in Bahrain Court against the workers and got favourable order. The Bahrain court imposed "Travel Ban" to all 128 workers.
