After the BJP received a communiqué from Raj Bhawan for a meeting tomorrow on government formation, the party’s core group met today to discuss the pre-modalities to be presented to Governor NN Vohra.
Sources said the meeting was a half-hour affair wherein it was decided that a team would be sent to Delhi to discuss with party leaders what had to be put before the Governor. Party state president Sat Sharma, former Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh and Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Shama left for Delhi after the meeting.
Sat Sharma is scheduled to meet the Governor at 6 pm after the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, who is meeting Vohra at 4 pm.
“We received a communiqué for a meeting scheduled for Tuesday and held the core group meet to discuss our strategy to be presented to Governor NN Vohra for government formation,” Sat Sharma said.
Sharma said the Governor’s letter reached his office at 8 pm yesterday and the party immediately decided to hold the core group meet. He said senior leaders were flying to Delhi to meet central leaders.
The BJP president said the ‘Agenda of Alliance’ was the outcome of two months of hard labour put in by both parties and they had agreed to stick to it.
“The agenda was made before the late Chief Minister, who honoured it. Since then 10 months have passed and we have translated many of its key points into action. The sanctioning of Rs 80,000 crore for the state is one of them,” he said.
The BJP president rubbished allegations of sabotage from the Centre or from within the party cadre for not implementing the agenda components. “There is no truth in any such accusations. If there are any misgivings, it should come to us in writing,” the BJP president said.
