New Delhi March 8:

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar said she wants the women's reservation bill to be introduced in the lower house in the current session, but all the political parties have yet to arrive at a consensus on it.

"I would want this bill to be introduced (in current session of parliament), but all the parties have to arrive at a consensus. That is the whole reason this (the bill) has been held up," Meira Kumar told women journalists during an interaction on the eve of International Women's Day (March 8).

The women's reservation bill, passed by the Rajya Sabha March 9 last year, seeks to reserve 33 percent seats for women in Lok Sabha and the state assemblies. It has yet to be moved in the Lok Sabha.
