Snatchers target 3 more women in Panchkula

Three snatching incidents were reported from Panchkula today. In the first incident reported from Sector 7, a woman, Neena Chopra (48) was walking towards a temple when two bike-borne youths snatched her gold chain. The victim. a resident of the same sector, raised the alarm, but the youths managed to flee. A case has been registered.
In another incident at around 3 pm, Neena Jain, a resident of Sector 16, was walking to a temple in Sector 17 when two bike-borne youths snatched her purse and fled. The purse contained Rs 2,000, ATM cards and some documents.
In yet another incident reported from Sector 2, two bike-borne youths targeted Monika, a teacher, and snatched her purse containing Rs 40,000 and ATM cards. The victim said she was carrying the “group fund money”, which was taken away by the snatchers.
Meanwhile, in the wake of the snatching incidents, Commissioner of Police OP Singh went around the city this evening for checking.
There has been a spate of snatching incidents in the past one week.
