Rewari Superintendent of Police (SP) Balwan Singh Rana has constituted a special investigation team (SIT) for probing the KVS paper leak case while two more accused, including a Delhi cop, were arrested after a raid.
The SIT, led by DSP Shaakir Hussain, would not only find out the whereabouts of the gang involved in the paper leak, but also ascertain the involvement of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan employees, if any. It would also identify those candidates who struck a deal with the gang to get answer keys in lieu of a hefty amount for qualifying the exam of primary teacher, sources said.
“Vijay Bhurthala, the kingpin of the gang, was earlier too, booked in a similar case. He had unsuccessfully contested the last Assembly polls from Kosli segment of Rewari district as an Independent. Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) chief Gopal Kanda had announced Vijay as his party candidate, but the latter returned the ticket after some days,” said a villager.
The SP said the accused, Vinod of Sulodha village in Mahendragarh, and Surya Prakash, alias Sameer, of Adarsh Colony in Narnaul, were arrested on Sunday night. Vinod, a Delhi cop, sold answer keys of the papers to agents while Sameer’s involvement had been established in leaking the paper. Three mobile phones had been recovered from them, he added.
All 15 accused were today produced before a local court which sent them to police remand for five days.
