Singer Surjit Khan injured in firing at wedding
RUPNAGAR:
Punjabi singer Surjit Khan and musician Jasbir Singh were injured in celebratory fire at a wedding in Jamitgarh Bhalla village on the Rupnagar-Balachaur road on Tuesday afternoon.
Khan was presenting his programme at the wedding of Manvir Singh when some guests dancing in an inebriated state started firing in the air. A bullet hit Khan on the right foot, while some pellets hit Jasbir in the leg.
Khan was admitted at the Civil Hospital, while Jasbir was operated upon at a private hospital where the pellets were removed.
SHO Vinod Kumar said action would be taken after recording Khan's statement.
