Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has demanded an apology from TV channel Colors and ouster of judge Sajid Khan from reality show India's Got Talent for disallowing Manpreet Singh, a seven-year old boy from Tarn Taran, from performing Sikh martial art gatka terming it violent for his age.

While the group, of which Manpreet was a part, was selected for the next level of the show, the judges said the seven-year-old be excluded as his carrying a sword would have a bad impact on children.

Objecting, SGPC president Avtar Singh Makkar on Monday said that by terming the act violent “the show has hurt Sikh sentiments“.

Manpreet, talking to HT, said he was sad as he also wanted to get to the next round with the rest of the group.
