Seven foreign trainers started training local youths from today in mountain trail biking, an adventure game on bicycles on zigzag mountains tracks, to popularise adventure sports in the Munsiyari region of Pithoragarh district. Uttarakhand Forest Corporation chairperson Harish Dhami inaugurated the training camp at Munsiyari.
“We have decided to develop a park for the training of the local youth in mountain trail biking by seven foreign trainers who are in Munsiyari to train people in adventure sports,” said Dhami while addressing a gathering on the occasion.
According to sources, the trainers comprise three British, one French, one Greek and one from Scotland, besides a liaison officer. “The trainers have been allotted a 11-km track route from Khalia Top to Madkot to develop a mountain trail bike route in the region which will be developed into a mountain trail park later,” said MPS Rawat, regional manager, Uttarakhand Forest Corporation.
