New Delhi February 26:

The Supreme Court refused to entertain a PIL filed by victims of terrorism in Punjab seeking a direction to the government to rehabilitate them.

A bench headed by the Chief Justice SH Kapadia declined to pass any order on a petition filed by Terrorist Violence Victims Association and asked it to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court. "Why don't you go to the High Court? How can we go on passing a direction as if the High Court does not exist", the bench said.

Advocate Pradeep Gupta, appearing for the petitioner, submitted persons who were displaced during the period of terrorism in the state have not been properly rehabilitated. He pleaded the court should pass a direction to the government to provide a job to at least one member of each displaced family.
