Wrestler Sushil Kumar, who won the bronze medal in 66-kg freestyle competition in Beijing Olympics, will be awarded Rs 25 lakh by Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL).
Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutta, who participated in Beijing olympics, were spotted by SAIL as potential medal winners in the international meets. The PSU had sponsored their training and other expenses for prepartaion for the 2010 Commonwealth Games, Rourkela Steel Plant sources said here on Saturday.
Steel Minister Ramvilas Paswan had given a warm send off to the wrestlers to participate in the Olympics. Sushil Kumar successfully competed at the 2008 Asian Wrestlers Championship held in South Korea winning the silver medal in the 66 kg category.
