RGIA, Hyderabad Becomes First Airport To Offer E-Boarding Facility To Domestic Fliers

The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad, run by the GMR group, has today become the first Indian airport to offer the facility of e-boarding to domestic fliers.

Inaugurated by the Union Civil Aviation Minister, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the facility incorporates all process, from the entry to the terminal to boarding the aircraft.

A flier now needs only his/her Aadhar card number or a mobile e-boarding card for entry to the airport terminal. The facility eliminates the need for manual stamping of the boarding passes.

All key processes that is, entry to the terminal, check-in, the security check, the boarding gate check, the boarding bridge check, and boarding the aircraft, are incorporated into the e-boarding facility.

The passenger has the choice to use either the Aadhar card number, or a photo id. The facility is welcome as a solution which aids a more convenient and efficient procedure.
