Queen's Baton Relay Reaches Fatehgarh Sahib

Fatehgarh Sahib June 28:

The Queen's Baton Relay for the 2010 Commonwealth Games received warm welcome at the historical Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib here.

Enthusiastic residents of the area had lined up on both the sides of the road through which the QBR passed to catch a glimpse of the baton that started its journey from London October last year. The baton, escorted by a cavalcade of cars, was followed by 'Shera' - mascot of the Delhi Games.

The baton, which arrived in India from Pakistan via the Wagah-Attari border on Friday, was here received by Fatehgarh Sahib Deputy Commissioner Yashvir Mahajan in the presence of several sportspersons and politicians.
