Chandigarh May 1:

Punjab Youth Congress will launch an indefinite relay hunger strike in Ludhiana today to press the state government to give a timeframe to eradicate the use of drugs from the state.

Punjab Youth Congress president and MP Ravneet Singh Bittu will lead the hunger strike which would be joined by a number of Youth Congress activists from all over the state. Mr Bittu, in a statement here, said everyday around 50 Youth Congress members would sit on the hunger strike and they would be replaced by another 50 the next day.

However, Mr Bittu said he himself would will sit on hunger strike continuously till the Punjab government gave a timeframe to ''eradicate the use of synthetic drugs from the state.'' This, he said, would be a peaceful strike and there would be no speeches as well.
