PUNJAB SIGNS POWER PURCHASE PACT WITH TATAS


Chandigarh February 27:
The Punjab State Electricity Board signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Tata Power Trading Corporation for supply of power for 30 years from its plant being set up in Jharkhand.

“With this agreement, Punjab would be getting 300 MW from this plant,” PSEB Chairman H.S. Brar said in a release. Maithon Power Limited, a joint venture of Tata Power Company and State-run Damodar Valley Corporation is setting up a 1050-MW (2x 525MW) thermal power station named Maithon Right Bank Thermal Power Project at Maithon in Dhanbad district of Jharkhand.
