Ferozepur December 30:
Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal announced to re-launch the scheme of conferring ownership rights on the tenants tilling the panchayat land in border areas and who could not avail of the opportunity earlier.
Badal said this decision was aimed at instilling a sense of security and confidence among the tenants. The CM today addressed public rallies at Guruharsahai and Jalalabad to carry forward his ‘Tarraki De Lehar-Pind Pind Shehar Shehar’ programme as part of his tour.
“My tour is entirely different from the Vikas Yatra undertaken by Amarinder Singh during the last year of his tenure because my objective is to disburse development grants to the people. Amarinder’s yatra was an exercise to boost his image,” Badal said.
Badal reiterated his demand for more fiscal autonomy for states. Those present on the occasion included Ferozepur MP Zora Singh Mann, Irrigation Minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon and Jalalabad MLA Sher Singh Ghubaya
