The Haryana Government that announced two projects in December 2014, a couple of months after the BJP led by Manohar Lal Khattar took reins of the state, has been able to put on track one of them.
The construction of 10-km cemented roads in the Ballabgarh segment is the only project expected to be completed soon. The state government released Rs21.85 crore for it.
The other project of linking Faridabad and Gurgaon with a Metro rail has been reportedly shelved. The Centre reportedly rejected a proposal for the project. The state government submitted it again for reconsideration; a final decision is awaited.
The Chief Minister made 16 announcements on May 18 during a rally here. Only three of them have reportedly been taken up, while the rest await approval from the Chief Minister’s office.
The projects announced on May 18 included 24-hour power supply to villages having line loss of less than 20 per cent. Sources said funds were to be sanctioned for a stadium at Shahpur village.
More projects were announced on June 6 and all await approval from departments concerned. These included Rs100-crore sewerage system for the city and renovation of Badkhal Lake.
