PROBE BEGINS INTO MOGA STRIPPING

Local SDM Lakhmir Singh has initiated a magisterial probe into the stripping by Paramjit Kaur of Ghal Kalan village here on Monday in protest against the police inaction against two persons who allegedly thrashed and raped her a couple of weeks ago. District magistrate Satwant Singh Johal had ordered the probe.
Meanwhile, the woman, who was arrested under Sections 189, 294 and 506 of the IPC, was bailed out late last night. The police had not yet arrested Shinder Singh and Kirpal Singh, alias Sonu, who were booked by the police on charges of raping Paramjit. However, a separate investigation into the whole episode by the police was still in progress, said Ashok Bath, Moga SSP.
The SSP said it had come out that Shinder is the son of her brother-in-law who used to live with her for the past many years. She had extra-marital relations with him, which was admitted by the woman in the village panchayat some time ago, the SSP added.
