The dead body of a 40-year-old pregnant woman was found in northern Samangan province on Sunday morning, a police official said.
The corpse was recovered in the Shahid Andkhoi Aibak neighbourhood, the acting crime branch, Capt. Asadullah, told Pajhwok Afghan News.
The victim was strangled before being stabbed in the eyes, according to the official, who said police were looking for the killers.
Asadullah said the woman's body had been transferred to the Aibak Civil Hospital. Her address is yet to be ascertained.
Hospital Director Mohammad Yousaf Faiz confirmed receiving the body.
