Punjab News Pre-paid taxi service from golden temple

Rendering much relief to thousands of pilgrims and tourists, Galiara Proejct team has decided to run pre-paid taxi service from Golden Temple Complex.

Stating this here today, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Galiara Project Director Kahan Singh Pannu informed that the tenders for the same had been floated and the service would commence in a months’ time. Giving details, he said the taxis would be parked at Saragarhi Parking, near Dharam Singh Market and the booking counters would be set up near Sarais and opposite Golden Temple Complex.

It is pertinent to mention here that a large number of tourists coming to Golden Temple and Jallianwala Bagh many a times feel harassed at the hands of taxi drivers. Therefore, with a view to provide hustle free transport service to the visitors, the Galiara Project had decided to start a Pre-paid Taxi Service. The service had been decided to be started in consultation with SGPC authorities. A similar service was also being run successfully from Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport, Amritsar.
