Gangrape: Police files chargesheet
Panchkula, December 23
A little over three months after alleged gangrape of a minor school girl of the town, the district police finally filed the charge sheet in the local district courts here today.
The police in the charge sheet claimed that the two youths, Jitesh and Aman, arrested in the case immediately after the complaint lodged by victim were involved in raping the girl. The police has stated that there was no substantial evidence regarding involvement of other accused, including Jatin, Chavi, Khushhal and another girl who was stated to be minor till now.
Aman was arrested by the police on September 21 followed by the arrest of Jitesh on September 24. While Jitesh is still in the judicial custody, Aman Ahuja was able to get bail in the case on November 1 from local court.
Ahuja, a resident of Sector 10, was arrested when the victim informed the police that he used to rape her and even made a porn movie of her.
The victim, a student of Class XII in a local school, was allegedly raped and tortured by five persons on September 16.
The girl, in her complaint lodged with the police, alleged that four youths, with the connivance of a girl, abducted her from the town and took her to a village in Punjab.
However, the victim could not furnish the names and addresses of the accused, except Jatin and Chhavi. Later the police arrested Ahuja when, during the investigation, the victim named him as a former accomplice of the rape accused.
The charge sheet revealed that on September 16, the day of alleged gang rape, the victim had exchanged 31 calls with Chunky Sharma, a youth staying in Sector 4. The victim also denied any involvement of Chunky in the case. The police stated they visited the village where the victim was allegedly raped and forensic team collected samples from there. The police said it was still investigating the role of Khushhal, whose swift car was allegedly used in the crime, and another minor girl.
