PM faces political queries on arrival from Asian tour

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had to confront questions on the alleged involvemment of Telecommunication Minister A Raja in the spectrum scam and the Adarsh Housing Society scandal, on his arrival today from a seven day three Asian nations tour of Japan, Malaysia and Vietnam.

Dr Singh assured the mediapersons that he would get the facts across once he arrives and talked in length about his meetings with Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao, US External Affairs Minister Hillary Clinton and Japanese and Malaysian Ministers.

During his seven day tour, Dr Singh took part in India-ASEAN summit and summit of East Asian nations in Vietnam. In Hanoi, he got to taste the success of India's ''Look West'' policy when China's posture melted away and the Chineses Prime Minister agreed to visit India and expressed desire to forge strong ties with India.

During this tour, India gave final touches to a Free trade aggrement with Japan and Malaysia with the PM's announcement of starting a dialogue for signing up similar aggrements with Indonesia and Thailand. Also, A Civil Nuclear deal was signed with South Korea and giving visas to the citizens of four ASEAN nations of Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and Thailand on coming to India was also announced.
