PATIALA WORST HIT, MORE THAN 50 DEAD

About 50 persons of Patiala district have reportedly died in Sunday's stampede at Naina Devi in Bilaspur District of Himachal Pradesh. Reports received at the district headquarters said that cremation of the victims was held at various places all over the district.
The maximum number of persons who died belonged to the Rajpura area. All the seven members of one family were died form village Sandarsi near Rajpura. Seven persons were also died were belonged to Rajpura city. Whereas two persons were from Goplapur and three belonged to Pappal village were died.
Rohit and his wife Seema, son and daughter of Narinder Singh, Krishna, Ruchi and Ashutosh wife, daughter and son of Choor Singh, Yadvinder and Sushma, son and daughter of Surinder Pal, all residents of Banwari in Rajpura sub-division. Tagan Kumar and Mohit, residents of Nabha, Vikram, a resident of Rajpura. Gurpreet Kaur and Jaswant Kumar of Gopalpur village near Rajpura, Charanjit, Fazil Ram and Neeraj, son of Kishan Lal, all residents of Matauli village in Patiala district.

SAD general secretary Prem Singh Chandumajra visited at various places in the district and has offered his condolences to the grieved families.

Report from Nabha said that mortal remains of the eight devotees of the town who died in the stampede in Naina Devi Shrine on Sunday were consigned to flames as thousands of wet eyes paid their tribute to departed souls.
Pyre of Lady Sarpanch of Sangat Pura Bhonki Gurpreet Kaur (30) and her eleven-year-old son Gurjit Singh was lit by shocked husband Bhupinder Singh. Ashok Kumar (55), his mentally challenged son Sagar and Poonam Rani, daughter-in-law of his brother were also put to flames in the town. Thousands bid adieu to the trio with wet eyes. The ten members of the family had gone to the shrine to seek the blessings of the Mata Naina Devi, one of the Shakti Peeths.
