President Obama, in his ‘Diwali Message’ spoke about the significance of Diwali for different faiths, and noted, “let us make a habit of empathy and reach out to those most in need.” With regard to Guru Hargobind, he says, at 0:56, “In Sikhism, Diwali is a celebration of freedom for Guru Hargobind, the religion’s sixth Guru.” Thanks for the shoutout President Obama! So Obama knows about Sikhs — and he even knows why we celebrate Bandi Chor Diwas. Do you?

Do you guys really think Shahrukh Khan is world famous and US officials stopped him purposefully even afte knowing his word famous reputation?

Also I disagree that sikhs celebrate 'bandi shod divas' not diwali.
There was no point in time when sikhs actually stopped celebrating diwali.

I think it's really good that Obama knows about all this kind of stuff. Just by giving out this little shoutout, Obama has shown several Americans that he will definately make a change. I don't think too many US presidents have done such a thing. Thank you for this shoutbox Obama.
