Now consumers can pay electricity bills at shops

Patiala October 1:

Electricity consumers can now pay their bill at various shops in the State as Punjab State Power Corporation has roped in two service providers Suvidha Infoserve and Easy Bill to facilitate the service. These two companies have further appointed more than 600 outlets as their franchisee all over Punjab, including Karyana Stores, Confectioneries and Milk Bars for collection of power bills from customers.

Punjab State Power Corporation Chairman K D Chaudhri on Friday said payment of electricity bills by consumers at these shops would not involve any service charge. The service has been provided to the consumers free of cost. The computers have been installed in the designated outlets which are directly connected to PSPCL server and any transaction carried on the computer is recorded in PSPCL server. The receipt is instantly generated which is handed over to the consumer. He added that consumer can pay electricity bills.
