A newborn was found abandoned in the toilet of a Turkmenistan Airlines plane that landed at Amritsar International Airport at 2.30 pm here today. The mother, who delivered a baby in the plane, has been booked .
It came to light when aircraft crew spotted the newborn in the toilet. They brought it to the notice of the airport authorities that informed immigration officials. The woman has been identified as Amandeep Kaur Maan of Hoshiarpur and was doing doctorate in Turkmenistan.
The medical staff of the airport took hold of the custody of the child and the mother, who were later referred to a private hospital.
The case was handed over to the airport police, which registered a case against the mother.
