Showing determination, a terminally ill HIV positive woman tracked down her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter, allegedly sold to a couple in Tirupur for Rs 20,000 by her husband, and got her back with the help of the police.

According to Dindigul superintendent of police M S Muthusamy, Revathy (name changed), lodged a complaint with the police a few days ago accusing her husband of selling their daughter, because she was ill and was not in a state of health to look after the child.

The 35-year-old woman said her husband had sold their daughter with the connivance of a social worker.

Revathy said her husband Kumaran (name changed) too was HIV positive.

The woman said she and her husband, a dhobi, lived in Theni district, along with their two children a 11-year-old son and a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
