LUDHIANA :
With no respite from the sizzling summer sun, city residents have started planning for summer vacations. To make their journey comfortable and to make sure that their plans are not marred owing to the unavailability of seats, the railway authorities have planned to introduce some extra bogies in the trains and start some more trains from May 15 onwards.

Heaving a sigh of relief residents are happy that the authorities have started planning things well in advance for their convenience.

Talking about it, senior divisional commercial manager Jatinder Singh said, “We are introducing additional seven to eight bogies on the routes to Mumbai and Bihar. Because these are the places where we witness maximum rush. These days we are keeping an eye on the waiting list of all trains and after seeing the rush we would introduce new trains, but so far rush towards West Bengal, Bihar, Mumbai is more as compared to other places.”

Notably, every year the railway authorities introduce special trains for commuters in summers and once again the department is planning to do the same.

Reservation Office head Ramesh Kumar said, “So far, all trains are fully booked and there is no space left, the only ray of hope is in Tatkaal Reservation. All trains are fully booked and this trend would continue for next two months till the summer vacations.”

Talking about it Kanika Sharma, a resident, said, “It is indeed required and no doubt a praiseworthy step. Because now we have a fare enough idea that on which routes new trains would be introduced so we can chalk out a plan accordingly.”

Urfan Rehmat, who hails from Uttar Pradesh said, “From the past many days I am trying to book the tickets but now there is a hope that I would get the same because authorities are assuring that from second week of May that either new bogies would be attacked or separate trains would be introduced.”
