JAIPUR: He was to enter a new phase of life and taste the waters of the real world. After leaving behind his twenty years of study, he was looking forward to a bright career in management as he had placement offers from three different multinational companies (MNCs).

But who could have thought that the fate would turn out to be so cruel to him.

The 24-year-old management graduate Abhimanyu Singh, a resident of Krishna Nagar, had just completed his MBA from a Mumbai-based management institute and returned home on Saturday.

A few hours after his return, he was killed in an accident when he was hit by an unidentified mini-truck near Kartapura railway station on Saturday night.

Abhimanyu was enjoying his time with four of his friends at around 11 pm near Ajmer railway track under Express Highway. His friends Abhishek, Vikash, Ankit and Sanjay had been his classmates till senior secondary level in Jaipur. They had invited Abhimanyu to celebrate his return and wish him a good future.

They were in a car when Abhimanyu's phone rang. "For privacy, he got off the car and had strolled just 10 yards away while talking over the phone. An over-speeding mini-truck took a rash turn and hit him. The truck driver fled after crushing him. His friends could not see the number plate of the vehicle," said the police.

"A bleeding Abhimanyu was rushed to SMS hospital by his friends but he died on the way. He was declared brought dead by the doctors," police said.

The news came as a shock for the family members of Abhimanyu who had been nursing big dreams for him.

"He had just completed his MBA and had placement offers from three multinational companies. He was so excited about the life that lay ahead. This is the worst time for such a thing to happen," said his distraught uncle Dhirendra Singh Bhadauria.

"He had dinner at around 10 pm along with family members and went out saying that he would return in an hour. But he never returned," said a relative.

His father Vrijendra Singh Bhadauria owns a shop at Chauda Rasta and His elder brother Abhishek Singh Bhadauria is captain in the Indian army.

His friends who were with him at the time of the incident are also in a state of shock. "It's impossible to believe what happened as he was our best friend," said his friend Abhishek Nadodia.
