The BJP today asked JNU authorities to allow the Delhi Police take action against students not cooperating in the investigation into alleged “anti-national” sloganeering on the university campus.
BJP national secretary Srikant Sharma said: “In the interest of 8,000 innocent students studying at the JNU, the university authorities should allow the police to take action as per law against those living in the campus and not cooperating in the investigation.”
He said any delay in sanctioning permission to enter the JNU campus would hamper the normal academic environment, which eventually would lead to gross injustice to innocent students studying there.
The party disapproved of its national secretary H Raja’s remark that CPI leader D Raja should ask communists to shoot his daughter for taking part in JNU protests.
