New Delhi January 31:

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's demand for repatriation of black money from tax havens has been backed by both UPA partner NCP and opposition Left.

"This is what we have been saying," CPI leader D Raja said when asked about the Rahul's statement. Raja wanted the Congress leader to bring pressure on the government to hasten the recovery of ill-gotten funds. He deplored the government's refusal to reveal names of those who had stashed unaccounted money abroad.

The NCP said Rahul's call for recovery of black money should guide the government into action. "I appreciate Rahul Gandhi's statement; in fact, the entire country agrees with him," NCP spokesman D P Tripathi said. He said that after Rahul's remarks, the government must make an all-out attempt to bring back the money.
