Third seeds Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi edged past Spanish pair of Marc Lopez and David Marrero in straight sets to advance to the quarter-finals of the Sony Ericsson Open here.
The Indian Express defeated their unseeded rivals 7-6 (5), 6-4 in the second round of the ATP Masters event. They will clash with sixth seeds Michael Llodra of France and Nenad Zimonjic of Serbia in the next round.
The Indian Express will run into the Indo-Pak Express of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi in the semifinals if both the pairs win their respective quarter-finals. Bopanna and Qureshi are up against Oliver Marach of Austria and Janko Tipsarevic of Serbia.
