Lok Sabha MP Lalu Yadav becomes the second MP after Rajya Sabha member & Congress leader Rasheed Masood who will set to lose their seats under a new Supreme Court ruling.

Lalu would be out of electoral arena for at least 11 years.

Lalu's lawyer had sought minimum punishment arguing former CM is an eminent, senior citizen.

A sitting from Jahanabad, Sharma also faces disqualification in the wake of a Supreme Court judgement that an MP or MLA would stand disqualified immediately if convicted by a court for crimes with punishment of two years or more and under some other laws even without jail sentence.

RJD spokesperson Manoj Jha has said that the verdict would be challenged in a higher court.

RJD workers and the still-faithful but dwindling band of Yadavs — will start looking at the next round of legal proceedings.
