MUMBAI: Suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman and commissioner Lalit Modi is not going down without a fight. The board had given permission to its president Shashank Manohar to pursue legal routes in view of financial losses that the BCCI has incurred.

In retaliation, Modi has asked the Board for the documents that led to this the decision despite his giving full explanation to all the queries put to him relating to IPL events and franchises.
At a press conference on Saturday Manohar had said that the board has to determine which cases would be criminal and which would be civil.
In his notice, Modi said that unless these documents, which would form the basis of the inquiry proceedings for possible disciplinary action against him, were made available, he would not be able to present his defence.

The notice also hinted that newspaper reports about the proposed action against Modi and his vilification by BCCI office-bearers, including Manohar, amounted to condemning him without a trial and was violative of the principles of natural justice.
