JALANDHAR ADMN TIES UP WITH PVT INDUSTRY FOR PROVIDING JOBS

Jalandhar September 27:
The district administration has joined hands with private industries of Jalandhar to provide employment opportunities to lakhs of unemployed youth in the state.
It may be noted that in industry in Jalandhar, nearly 75 per cent employees, including labourers, are outsiders and the industry is perpetually facing acute shortage of staff.
The youth would be employed through an “employment fair” being organised by Jalandhar Chamber of Industries and Commerce (JCIC) on October 3 at District Industries Centre at Focal Point. Training would also be provided to the recruited youth to enhance their abilities further. The Chamber has invited applications under six categories, including security personnel, computer operators, founderymen, electricians, mechanical engineers and other technical persons.
Narinder Sehgal, president of the Chamber, along with DC A.S. Pannu said in a joint press conference here today that there was an acute shortage of labourers. This policy would not only help the unemployed youth, but also the industry, which will get labour for the entire year.
