Bengaluru: The Karnataka Government on Monday said ISRO would map villages to identify availability of water resources to tide over water problems. Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister HK Patil said a database of villages generated using space technology would help government take steps to conserve water resources. PTI

India ranks third in the world after China and the US in issuing passports with the number having doubled since 2010. The number of passports issued went up from 60 lakh five years ago to 1.2 crore last year, Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer of Ministry Muktesh K Pardeshi said. PTI

The government has launched a mobile app that will enable travellers to send pictures of dirty spots at tourist places to the authorities for 'immediate action' as part of Clean India Mission.
