An Israeli warplane on Wednesday bombed tunnels under the border between the Gaza Strip and Egypt that are used by militants to smuggle weapons, witnesses said.
Witnesses said a bomb or missile caused a large explosion, but injured no one.
One of Israel's main objectives of its 22-day onslaught against Gaza, which killed 1,300 Palestinians, was to put and end to smuggling from Egypt using the tunnels, which they said were being used to smuggle in weapons, including rockets that were being fired against Israeli towns.
