INDIA REPATRIATES 28 PAK NATIONALS AFTER RELEASE FROM JAIL


Amritsar November 15:
India repatriated 28 Pakistani nationals, including two women, to Pakistan through the land transit route of Attari Check Post. They were warmly received with garlands by the Pakistani Rangers across the border.
Among 28 prisoners who were released, 17 were from the transit camp of Amritsar Central Jail, eight from Jammu and Kahsmir, one each from Bhuj, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh and Jaipur Jail.
Among them are two females, Seema and Farzana Sareen. However, Seema of Mohalla Kagji Bazar, Karachi who completed her sentence in January 2008 was arrested for carrying fake visa on her passport. Farzana Sareen resident of Shekhupura, Lahore, was arrested by the Indian Custom Authority at Attari Railway Station for carrying fake currency. She also completed her sentence in November 2007.
Rest of the prisoners were Batru of Mantok Pakistan arrested in Ferozpur district under the Indian Passport Act 3-34-20 in 2006. He completed his sentence in December 19, 2007. Liyaqat Ali of Shahpur, District Kassor was arrested under the Indian Passport Act in October 2007 and completed his sentence in April 2008.
