In an order that could improve Delhi's deteriorating air quality if implemented effectively, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Monday said diesel vehicles older than 10 years will be banned in the capital immediately.
The NGT also directed Regional Transport Offices (RTO) in Delhi to de-register all diesel vehicles which are more than ten years old.
The also ordered the RTO to provide a list of all the de-registered vehicles to the Delhi Traffic Police.
