New Delhi May 1:

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have complained to the Supreme Court that the Income Tax department has not handed over the entire contents of the explosive Radia tapes. And this ''non-cooperation'' is hampering investigations.

Sources confirmed to Zee News that out of the 5,000 hours of recording only a ''fraction'' had been made available to the CBI. The CBI also told the court that a lot of the initial breakthrough in the investigations came from the phone tapes such as the extensive details of the money trial.

The I-T department's lack of cooperation is inexplicable as the Radia phone tapes helped unravel the entire 2G scam. Following the two investigative agencies’ complaint, the SC is likely to rap the Finance Ministry to order the I-T department to cooperate, thereby further embarrassing a beleaguered government.
