Indian hockey captain Sardar Singh seems to be in trouble as a London-based woman has reportedly filed a complaint of sexual harassment against him at the Koom Kalan police station in Ludhiana.
Station House Officer Surjit Nagra confirmed that they had received a complaint against Sardar Singh. The police officer said they would register a formal complaint following a preliminary investigation.
The woman, who was in Bhaini Sahib today, told the police that she had been part of Great Britain's under-19 hockey team and came in contact with Sardar Singh in 2012. She alleged they were into a physical relationship as Sardar had promised to marry her. After she got pregnant, Sardar insisted that she should undergo an abortion, which she did. However, Sardar later refused to marry her and even stopped taking her phone calls, she alleged.
She claimed she got engaged to Sardar Singh a few months ago and both of them had recently visited Bhaini Sahib to pay obeisance.
