Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday attacked the government over the celebrations of two years of NDA government and added that Narendra Modi should realize he is the Prime Minister of India and not an emperor. and
“I have never seen anything like this. A Prime Minister is there, not an emperor. He is the country’s Prime Minister. There is so much poverty in the country. There is drought. Farmers are in trouble. I do not find it appropriate (that government) shows off like this,” she said.
Gandhi said Modi’s ministers have given him “this stature” and are busy holding celebrations”.
Gandhi is on a a two-day visit to her constituency Rae Bareli. Earlier on Tuesday she said there was a conspiracy behind the allegations that her son-in-law, Robert Vadra, had links with an arms dealer and demanded an impartial probe into the charges.
