BJP MP from Nainital BS Koshiyari has attacked the state government for “favouring” multinational company Coca Cola in allocating vacant land at Sidcul-Sitarganj for a bottling plant.
Koshiyari alleged that the government was not worried about the needs of the poor but was keen to jump into any venture with companies that were profitable. “The government is yet to rehabilitate disaster affected people in the state. It is the duty of the state not the Centre to allot land to the victims. If the situation remained the same, people, especially in the border areas, will start leaving their villages,” he said, while addressing mediapersons here today.
He flayed Congress leaders for spreading canards against the Centre on fund allocation for the rehabilitation process.
Koshiyari said, “The Chief Minister has never invited the BJP MPs to discus the state issues so that a joint strategy could be laid out. The government has completely kept us out of government functions and advertisements, even though these may pertain to the constituencies of the BJP MPs.”
Koshiyari attacked the government for spreading falsehood about the Modi government not allocating funds to Uttarakhand. “The Central Government has earmarked Rs 2000 crore for gram panchayats during this fiscal. The first instalment has already been disbursed. The 14th Finance Commission has also enhanced the funds for the state,” he said.
He flayed the government for issuing a government order asking gram pradhans to deposit 50 per cent of the share with the state government. “After gram pradhans raised a hue and cry, the government withdrew the order,” said Koshiyari.
