The Rohtak college student who had alleged gang rape by five youths here on July 13 had reportedly gone to a local hotel with two youths on that day.
Investigations made by the SIT probing the matter have revealed that she spent some time with the two youths in a hotel room. The youths later dropped the girl near Sukhpura Chowk in an inebriated condition.
The SIT had earlier arrested one of the youths, Sandeep Hooda, and now the other one, Parmod, had also been arrested. Parmod was produced before the court today, which remanded him in police custody for two days.
While Sandeep Hooda of Kiloi village runs a sports goods shop in Rohtak town, Parmod of Pakasma village works as a muti-purpose health worker (MPHW) at the local Civil Surgeon’s office.
SIT in charge Pushpa Khatri, DSP, said the arrested youths were being “deeply” interrogated to get to the bottom of the matter.
According to police sources, Sandeep Hooda was an old acquaintance of the complainant. On the afternoon of July 13, Sandeep met the complainant near Mansarover Park and got her introduced to Parmod.
Parmod has admitted that he had accompanied the complainant to a hotel located near the new bus stand. He said Sandeep also joined them and the three of them stayed there and also reportedly consumed liquor.
On the other hand, Parveen Kumar, a cousin of the complainant, said she had denied having met or accompanied the said youths on the said day.
